Helpful heart herbs

Herbs that target heart palpitations can help to calm you and help you relax. Heart palpitations occur for many reasons. A problem in the nervous system can lead to heart palpitations along with psychological difficulties such as stress or anxiety. While it is often difficult to determine the exact cause of heart palpitations, treating the body in a way which helps you relax canreduce the occurrence of heart palpitations. Before adding herbal remedies to your health treatment plan, consult your physician, especially if you are experiencing recurrent heart issues. You may have an underlying medical condition that requires conventional medical treatment.

Hawthorn

Hawthorn is used to treat high blood pressure, reduce cholesterol and strengthen the heart. The leaves, berries and flowers of the hawthorn tree have potent cardiovascular benefits. Hawthorn works much like conventionally prescribed medication, but it does so naturally and with fewer side effects. If you have been diagnosed with high blood pressure or any other cardiovascular condition, youshould not take hawthorn on a regular basis for longer than two weeks.Consult your physician before taking hawthorn.

Gingko Biloba

Gingko biloba has strong antioxidant properties that makes it beneficial to the arteries. It helps to relax the blood vessels, and can be used to treat conditions such as angina. Like hawthorn, it helps with cardiovascular issues such as high blood pressure. The activei ngredient in gingko helps the blood flow to the heart by opening upthe blood vessels. Gingko is generally safe to take. However, consult your physician before adding this herb to your health plan.

Valerian

Valerian is a popular anxiety remedy used throughout Europe. Valerian can calm your nerves and also improves sleep. Widely available in health food stores in capsules, tinctures and teas, valerian helps you to relax without excessive grogginess.

Garlic

Garlic helps to control cardiovascular conditions that can lead to palpitations. It helps to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. It also reduces the risk of blood clotting, and it fights clogged arteries or artherosclerosis. You can opt to eat raw garlic cloves at least once a day or choose garlic in supplement form. Look for garlic supplements that contain a component called allicin rather than those that contain"aged garlic." Garlic is safe to take on a long term basis.

Look for herbs that target heart palpitations in most health food stores or natural health suppliers.
