Flaxseed

Several different kinds of oil, like flaxseed, are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids have been shown to promote healthy skin. Because your skin is a reflection of your diet, it makes sense to consume foods that improve the look of your skin. Keep it healthy and good looking by adding essential fatty acids that may be lacking. Start by taking one tablespoon of flaxseed oil per day. You may add it to salad dressing, drizzle over vegetable or stir into a glass of juice in the morning. You should see results within a couple of months.

Rose

Rose is an old-time remedy, especially when combined with glycerin. Glycerin and rosewater lotion is a perfect moisturizer. Glycerin is a softening agent because it is soluble in water, while the rose adds a soothing fragrance. Apply with your fingers to clean and wet skin.

Calendula

Calendula is an ingredient often found in lotions, oils or salves. Calendula has a mild antiseptic action that soothes red, inflamed skin and speeds healing. Look for calendula infused lotions in most drug stores or health food stores.

Olive Oil

Olive oil makes a great, natural, one ingredient moisturizer. Seal in moisture on your skin by massaging on olive oil right after you bathe. Make sure the olive oil you purchase is pure by buying kosher olive oil.

Chamomile, Peppermint or Lemon Balm Teas

Make a batch of these natural herbal teas. The volatile oils in the teas hydrate and soothe and also provide anti-inflammatory effects. Simply place some of the herbal tea in a spritz spray bottle and spray your skin when you travel to moisturize and hydrate.
